2023: Investment of 1.4 billion rubles from AvtoVAZ

AvtoVAZ and Togliatti State University (TSU) are creating an advanced engineering school of hybrid technologies (PISH) "HybridTech." The press service of the university announced this on December 11, 2023.

The POC R&D program includes four interconnected science and technology programs and 39 projects focused on creating materials with unique properties, increasing the productivity and energy efficiency of technological processes, processing difficult-to-process materials, and increasing the durability of tools. AvtoVAZ and seven other companies confirmed their participation in their implementation. An engineering center is being created at TSU to develop "blocked" components and equipment.

AvtoVAZ invests about 1.38 billion rubles in the creation of an engineering school in Togliatti. AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov said that by the end of 2023, the company faces a large-scale task to achieve technological sovereignty in production.

Of course, we are aiming at the Togliatti State University and a joint project to create an advanced engineering school "HybridTech" and to re-engineer the existing model range, and to develop new models, fundamentally new design developments, including power plants and everything that makes up the car, - he said.

According to the head of the engineering school, Alexander Selivanov, the task of the HybridTech project will be to develop hybrid and combined technologies with the necessary equipment for the automotive industry and train engineers for the industry. He stressed that by the end of 2023, the industry provides work for almost 3 million people and gives a turnover of over 3 trillion rubles, the market share of Avtovaz is 37%.^[1]
