2025: Signing a Cluster Agreement
In Russia, a federal Medical and Technical Industrial Cluster has been established aimed at achieving technological leadership in the domestic medical industry. The strategic founders of the association were Sechenov University, ANO Consortium "Medical Technology," LLC "National Industrial Leasing" and ANO "Innovative Engineering Center." The four-party agreement on the creation of the cluster was signed on June 18, 2025.
According to the press service of Sechenov University, the main task of the industry expert organization will be the implementation and support of industrial high-tech projects in medicine. The cluster will contribute to the development of domestic medical equipment and reduce dependence on imports.
The mechanism of industrial clusters has been operating in Russia since 2015 to achieve technological sovereignty in all industries. Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 779 of July 31, 2015 approved the requirements for industrial clusters. More than 80 sectoral industrial clusters are already operating in the country, included in the special register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The system of industrial clusters has an interregional network structure and takes into account special economic zones and territories of advanced development. The development of clusters reduces dependence on states the import of raw materials, materials and components, and also helps to form a scientific and technical reserve in various industries.
The agreement on the creation of a medical and technical cluster was signed by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Technological Development of Sechenov University Vadim Tarasov, General Director of ANO Medical Technology Consortium Kirill Litvitsky, General Director of Natspromleasing LLC Dmitry Eroshok and General Director of ANO Innovative Engineering Center Nikolai Kolpakov.[1]
