2023: Participation in a project to treat fields with agricultural dons

A joint project of AgroSignal and the ALS Consortium has been launched. Now you can order the processing of the field by drone through the platform for managing agribusiness. Such a service will become available to agricultural producers from 12 regions of Russia, on the territory of which an experimental legal regime (EPR) began to operate on September 16, 2023. InfoBiS announced this on October 9, 2023. To do this, you need to fill out a short form in which to indicate the coordinates of the site, as well as the date and time when the work needs to be carried out. This tool can be used for processing plant protection products using drones. The application will immediately go to the platform managing the use of agrodrons of the ALS Consortium, like a taxi order. Read more here.

2022: Establishing a Company

On September 5, 2022, it became known about the creation in Russia of a new company for the development of unmanned delivery technologies - BAS Consortium LLC. This is a joint project of Russian Post and Skolkovo Ventures.

According to Interfax, citing data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, a new company with an authorized capital of 10 million rubles was registered on September 2, 2022. The shares of Russian Post and Skolkovo Ventures in it are 40% and 60%, respectively.

Russian Post and Skolkovo Ventures have created a company for unmanned delivery

The strategy of Russian Post JSC for 2020-2030 involves the transition to a holding management model. The company will allocate various functions to subsidiaries (for example, IT development is concentrated in Pochtatech). The same applies to BAS Consortium LLC, only in the development of delivery technologies by unmanned vehicles. Russian Post took into account the experience of interaction with Skolkovo in the implementation of hyperlocal delivery by unmanned robots.

In total, Russian Post will create more than 10 companies that will take on various functions and products. This approach, the company believes, allows "to give more responsibility to management, independently attract funding, quickly generate and test hypotheses and bring them to market."

Russian Post is the initiator of the project of an experimental legal regime in the field of digital innovations in the operation of unmanned aircraft systems. The corresponding program was approved by the Government of the Russian Federation in March 2022. It is assumed that as part of a 3-year experiment in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Territory, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, drones will be used to deliver mail and cargo.

In mid-June 2022, Russian Post announced plans to begin commercial delivery of cargo by unmanned drones "in the near future."[1]
