On November 25, 2020 "Rosatom" announced start of the new federal project — National quantum laboratory which the state corporation created together with seven leading scientific centers of the Russian Federation: JV Kvant HIGHER SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS NATIONAL RESEARCH UNIVERSITY NITU "MISIS" MIPT Physical institute of RAS Russian Quantum Center and fund "Skolkovo".
We not some in the world who thinks within national programs for development of quantum technologies. They were recently started in Europe, China, the USA and India. Now we create National quantum laboratory for implementation of those tasks which were put within our national road map on development of quantum technologies — the head of project office on quantum technologies of Rosatom Ruslan Yunusov (the quote by TASS) said. |
Project participants intend to focus on the solution of such tasks as creation new and updating of the existing infrastructure and also training. In the territory Skolkovo the center of a nanofabrication of 2000 sq.m and also the advanced laboratory complex more than 3500 sq.m will be constructed. The purchased equipment will be used for opening of new laboratories and improvement of the existing laboratory complexes of members of laboratory.
Rosatom hopes that the modern infrastructure base will allow to increase qualitatively the level of researches and scientific developments, including within implementation of the road map on quantum computings.
The consortium will start start of educational programs for quantum subject, since school level, and will implement standards of preparation and retraining of specialists. Students, graduate students and young researchers will be able to adopt experience of world-class scientists and to use it in development of the domestic quantum computer on four main platforms: superconductors, ions, neutral atoms and photons.[1]
