Acquisition of controlling interest by Sberbank

On June 11, 2020, Sberbank announced that it had signed binding documents on investments in the development and acquisition of a controlling stake in 2GIS.

According to the company, according to the results of the transaction, in which O2O Holding LLC also participates, the share of Sberbank will be 72%, the share of O2O - 3%, the founders and management will retain a share of 25% in the company. Investment funds Baring Vostok and RTP Global will fully withdraw from 2GIS capital. Sberbank and 2GIS plan to jointly develop the company's technology platform and products, creating services that will simplify the daily life of users and help entrepreneurs conduct business.

The plan is as follows:

  • The platform will allow users not only to receive information about the object and its location on the map, but also to choose the optimal and convenient way to move using public, personal and rental vehicles (car sharing, bicycles, scooters, etc.), order and pay for it.
  • 2GIS plans to become a marketplace not only for large companies, but also for local businesses that do not have a presence or are underrepresented in the online space.
  • The company will develop convenient tools for developers who want to create experience in local search, mapping and navigation in digital products.

The presence of its own mapping platform will allow Sberbank ecosystem companies to create products and services, providing customer experience. Integration with 2GIS will accelerate the development of various business areas of Sberbank, its ecosystem, as well as the joint venture of Sberbank and, Mail.ru Group such as:,, Sberlogistics,, Sabermarket, and Citymobil Delivery Club SberFood Scooter others.
