PVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia - Passport and Visa Service

FSUE PVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia ("Passport and Visa Service") is a state-owned enterprise, the main activities of which (as of October 2018) are the provision of information and consulting services in the field of migration to individuals and legal entities, as well as the provision of services for issuing applications and other documents submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and (or) its territorial bodies upon receipt of government services.

History

2022: Shortage of passport printers

In November 2022, it became known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs fears interruptions in the issuance of passports due to the impossibility of updating the fleet of matrix printers on which these documents are printed. The ministry warned that the already purchased equipment will last for a year. The Ministry of Internal Affairs used printers from Japanese vendors Epson and OKI, as well as the Italian Olivetti and the American Lexmark.

2017: Renaming to FSUE PVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

By order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated March 16, 2017 No. 161, the company approved the revision of the Charter, according to which it was renamed the FSUE PVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

2016

Prior to the adoption by the President of the Russian Federation of Decree No. 156 of April 5, 2016 "On Improving Public Administration in the Field of Control over the Circulation of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors and in the Field of Migration," the enterprise was under the departmental subordination of the Federal Migration Service, which carried out general management, coordination and regulation of its activities.

Pursuant to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated May 26, 2016 No. 1025-r, FSUE PVS FMS of Russia is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

2009: Creation

FSUE PVS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (formerly FSUE "PVS") FMS Russia was created on the basis of order of Government of the Russian Federation November 5, 2009 No. 1638-r.
