2026: Developing a UAV for police that can attack offenders with pepper spray
In February 2026, the Volgograd Academy MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Russia announced the development of an unmanned patrol-air complex, which is designed to control law and order during mass events. UAV can act on violators using a loudspeaker and aerosols with an irritant.
According to the document at the disposal of TASS, the development solves the problem of creating an air vehicle for patrol. When unauthorized actions are detected, the complex is able to transmit warnings via speakerphone or use special means to suppress illegal actions.

The drone is based on a quadcopter equipped with control and navigation systems. As the developers explained, a device for firing cartridges is fixed on the bottom of the case, and a speaker with an antenna connected to a microphone on the operator's console is installed on top. Flashing beacons are mounted on the drone beams near the engines. Holders with barrels are secured on axles on sides of shooting unit, each pair of which is supplemented with laser target designator.
The patent for the device states that at least four small-sized aerosol cans of the BAM-OS 18x55 model are used as ammunition. They contain an active substance based on hot red pepper extract.
