The Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology is a structural scientific, educational and clinical unit of the I.P. Pavlova PSPbGMU. Located in St. Petersburg.

It develops new methods of therapy for oncohematological patients. Conducts a wide range of clinical studies of new drugs. Engaged in the treatment and diagnosis of leukemias, lymphomas; treatment of patients with blood diseases, oncological and hereditary diseases. Conducts chemotherapy and transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (bone marrow transplantation). Carries out educational and methodological pre-diploma and postgraduate training of doctors in the specialties "Hematology" and "Transplantology."

History

2025: Launch of a new building in St. Petersburg for ₽1,7 billion

The new building of the Raisa Gorbacheva Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology in St. Petersburg received permission to commission. The cost of construction amounted to about ₽1,7 billion. The building has a height of about 30 meters and consists of seven floors, including one underground.

The Institute is part of the First St. Petersburg State Medical University named after Academician Ivan Pavlov. The construction permit was issued by the state atomic energy corporation Rosatom. Supervision of the construction of the facility was carried out by PPK "Unified Customer in the Field of Construction." The federal budget took over the financing of the construction.

For ₽1,7 billion, a new building of the Raisa Gorbacheva Pediatric Oncology Clinic was launched in St. Petersburg

The total area of ​ ​ the new building is about 17 thousand square meters. m. The building has a complex configuration and is designed to accommodate modern medical equipment. Marat Khusnullin noted that thanks to the construction of a new building, the number of bone marrow transplants in the Raisa Gorbacheva clinic will double, and the total throughput will increase significantly.

The new building provides modern premises for hospitals of the clinical rehabilitation center and ophthalmology clinic with 110 beds. Equipped with bone marrow transplantation, resuscitation and intensive care units, five operating rooms and a blood transfusion unit. The layout takes into account the specifics of the treatment of patients after bone marrow transplantation.

The multifunctional clinical and rehabilitation center will specialize in the rehabilitation treatment of children who have undergone bone marrow transplantation, as well as in the treatment and prevention of complications of chemoradiation therapy. Rehabilitation after bone marrow transplantation requires long-term follow-up and specialized medical care.[1][2]
