At the naval bases of the Russian Navy create control points for anti-ship protection

One of the first objects where such a point was established was the Kamchatka brigade of ships for the protection of the water area. In addition to the PRZ, air observation points with a watch service are also organized here.

At the naval bases of the Russian Navy, the creation of control points for anti-ship protection began

Particular attention is paid to the Black Sea, where attacks using UAVs and BECs are already taking place. Captain I rank Vasily Dandykin stressed that, despite the limited capabilities of the Ukrainian forces, it is possible that Western countries can undertake such attacks, hiding behind Kyiv. An example of such a scenario is the explosion of the Northern Streams.

According to military expert Dmitry Boltenkov, for the effective protection of bases, it is necessary to organize several lines of defense. On long-range approaches, UAVs should meet with fighter aircraft and interceptors, then long-range anti-aircraft systems of S-400 and anti-aircraft missile systems of ships. When approaching the base, UAVs should be under heavy fire from anti-aircraft artillery installations and small arms.

Vasily Dandykin noted that twin anti-aircraft installations are being installed along the perimeter of the bases, in places with sectors convenient for shooting. ZU-23-2 He added that the creation and development of anti-ballistic defense control points at the naval bases of the Russian Navy is an important step to ensure security and increase the country's defense capability. These measures will significantly improve the protection of bases from modern threats, including unmanned boats and aircraft.[1]

Moving Black Sea Fleet ships from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk and Feodosia

In October 2023, discussions were held about the movement of Russian ships from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk and Feodosia due to the danger of missile attacks on the fleet. At this time, the Black Sea Fleet cannot fully ensure its security.

This requires full control not only over the Black Sea, but also airspace. While the Armed Forces of Ukraine have access to the sea, and NATO aviation directs drones and missiles, the danger remains, Rybar wrote.

The distance from the contact line in the Kherson region and from Odessa is 400 and 580 km to Feodosia and Novorossiysk, which exceeds the combat range of the Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles.

Problems with air defense and PLO ships

Almost all small missile ships of Russia of a new construction do not have air defense systems. They do not have any PLO means at all, which is why the ships are defenseless against the torpedo and any underwater threat.

The new few 12,700 minesweepers are equipped with ineffective mine countermeasures and are actually "ships to the first mine."

Helicopters with early radar detection systems (AWACS) exist in single copies: things are much worse with them than with aircraft. Patrol and anti-submarine aircraft in the form of obsolete IL-38 are on the verge of extinction.

New painting of ships makes it difficult to identify them from enemy satellites

Minesweeper "Ivan Golubets" in the Sevastopol bay in a new color.

Due to the repainting of Russian warships, namely the bow and stern, the ability to identify a specific model of the ship has practically disappeared, enemy sources reported. Now the size of ships in satellite images is greatly distorted.

For example, the size of the frigate "Admiral Makarov" (in the satellite image) is 124.8m, but due to repainting, only 90 m are visible.

The time of the attack is 5.30 in the morning. The attack was successfully repelled. The ship was not damaged. It was reported that all enemy boats were destroyed by a Russian ship with 14.5 mm turret machine gun launchers 140 km northeast of the Bosphorus. Ivan Khurs continues to fulfill its tasks.

2000: Submarine "Kursk" sank

On August 12, 2000, the Kursk submarine sank.
A note from the sunken Kursk submarine, written by the captain: "It's dark to write here, but I'll try it to the touch... There seems to be no chance, 10-20 percent. Let's hope that at least someone will read. Here is a list of compartment personnel, some are in the ninth and will try to get out. Hello everyone, you don't have to despair. Kolesnikov "

V October 1989, during training shootings, a training torpedo from a submarine K-469 turned out to be not quite a training one. She got right into the area of the reactor compartment of the nuclear submarine K-178. To everyone's joy, everyone got off with a slight fright and caught up with the naval command.

The death of the battleship "Novorossiysk" in Sevastopol

On October 29, 1955, the battleship Novorossiysk was blown up in the Northern Bay of Sevastopol. According to various sources, from 617 to 829 people died, including rescuers. On the eve of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet returned from the campaign and anchored near the Marine Hospital. Part of the crew was released on dismissal. About 1.5 thousand people remained on board.

A powerful explosion on the starboard side, as a result of which a hole of 150 sq.m. was formed, thundered at 1.30 in the night. The holds, pumping station and part of the sleeping cubicles were flooded. About 200 sailors died immediately.

About 20 minutes after the explosion, it was decided to tow Novorossiysk in shallow water. 800 team members were built on the upper deck. The commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice Admiral Parkhomenko, who arrived at the battleship, refused to evacuate the personnel, believing that the situation was under control. But the towing attempt only aggravated the situation - the flagship tilted hard on the port side. At 04.14, he turned over and rested his masts in the ground. Who could jump from the upper deck into the water. Those in the inner compartments were doomed.

Nine people were rescued from the flooded ship. Seven of them - through holes cut into the bottom, through which air began to escape. Until November 1, divers heard the dead sailors sing "Our proud" Varyag "does not surrender to the enemy...

The cause of the death of Novorossiysk, the former flagship of the Italian Navy Guilio Cesare, has not been established. Experts, based on the nature of the explosion and the state of the mines themselves by 1955, consider the official version of its detonation on the German bottom mine unconvincing. As well as the version of the demolition of the battleship by Italian combat swimmers.

Perhaps there is a British trace in this tragedy. In 1948, when the ship was handed over to the USSR on reparations, Churchill had already made his speech in Fulton. Prior to that, the battleship was located in Malta for several years - the main base of the British Navy on the Mediterranean Sea. Before the transfer to the USSR, it was subjected to serious modernization. Then the "hell's parcel" could be laid in the bow.

By 1955, the USSR had strengthened its position in the Middle East, and Novorossiysk was just preparing for a trip to the Mediterranean Sea.

After the tragedy in Sevastopol, the military commissar of the Navy, Admiral Kuznetsov, was demoted and removed from office, and the program for the construction of the ocean navy was curtailed. Khrushchev took the course of "peaceful coexistence."

1938

Boris Ushakov's flying submarine is an incredible project of the USSR from 1935-1938. In 1938, the Research Military Committee of the Red Army decided to curtail work on the Flying Submarine project due to insufficient mobility of the LPL in the underwater position.
