2025: Academy cadet arrested on charges of selling hacking tool on 'Avito '

In mid-May 2025, it became known about the arrest of a cadet of the Military Space Academy named after A.F. Mozhaisky in St. Petersburg. He is suspected of developing and trying to sell a hacker tool capable of hacking the Secret Net Studio security infrastructure used by government organizations. Secret Net Studio, created by Security Code, is a comprehensive solution for protecting workstations and servers at the data, application, network, operating system and peripheral hardware levels. The software is certified in accordance with the requirements of the FSTEC and the FSB of Russia. According to the developer, Secret Net Studio is the standard for a number of critical sectors of the Russian economy in the field of protecting confidential information, including protecting state secrets.

Cadet of the Military Space Academy in St. Petersburg arrested on charges of selling a hacker tool on Avito

According to the Telegram channel "Officer's Legal Corner," a cadet of the Military Space Academy named after A.F. Mozhaisky created an algorithm that allows you to bypass the Secret Net Studio protection and gain access to classified information. A young programmer, whose name has not been disclosed, tried to sell his hacker tool on Avito for 8,000 rubles. The buyer was an FSB officer, after which the cadet was detained.

The arrested man faces treason charges. Such acts are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 12 to 20 years with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles or in the amount of the convict's salary or other income for a period of up to three years or without it and with restriction of freedom for a term of up to two years or life imprisonment. In addition, the cadet can be accused of unlawful access to legally protected computer information.[1]
