OAO Publishing House "Enlightenment" is a publishing house of educational and methodological literature with an almost 85-year history. Until 1991, Enlightenment was the only publishing house in the country to produce school textbooks.
Participating in the development of modern didactics, multimedia educational resources, innovative educational products, components of the information and educational environment, the publishing house determines the main priority to create a comprehensive product for the educational process, including textbooks, maps, atlases, dictionaries, teaching aids, programs, workbooks, equipment for school rooms, as well as furniture for preschool institutions.
Each year, the Publishing House produces about 90 million textbooks and additional manuals, that is, an average of almost 250 thousand copies per day. The share of the publishing house in the market of educational literature is 30%. On May 18, 2021, it became known that Sber, ВЭБ.РФ and RDIF were buying 25% each from Enlightenment. "Rostelecom" and "Enlightenment" signed a cooperation agreement
On July 13, 2017, a cooperation agreement was signed between PJSC Rostelecom and Prosveshchenie Publishing House JSC. The document was signed by President of PJSC Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky and President of JSC Enlightenment Management Company Vladimir Uzun.
Under the terms of the agreement, the parties express their intention to jointly implement a project to create and promote an educational platform, including products for the general, secondary and higher vocational education market and aimed at developing the infrastructure of the education system of the Russian Federation.
In order to implement the Project, the Parties will create a joint venture, the work of which will be aimed at developing e-education services, introducing solutions for school information and library centers and recruiting libraries of educational organizations with electronic educational resources.
