Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ) traces its history back to 1940. In 2007, KVZ joined the Russian Helicopters holding, and the company produces modern modifications of the Mi-8/17 series helicopters and the Ansat light helicopter. More than 12 thousand Russian-made helicopters manufactured in Kazan have flown a total of 50 million flight hours worldwide over the entire 70-year history.

Performance indicators

2024: Revenue growth by 14.4% to 60 billion rubles

At the end of 2024, the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ), part of the Russian holding Russian Helicopters of the Rostec state corporation, recorded revenue of 58.99 billion rubles. For comparison, a year earlier this figure was 51.58 billion rubles. Thus, an increase of 14.4% was recorded, as stated in the financial report released in early February 2025.

In 2024, the net profit of the manufacturer of the Mi-8/17 and Mi-38 machines amounted to 1.24 billion rubles. For comparison, in 2023 the company earned 1.35 billion rubles. Commercial expenses on an annualized basis increased from 6.97 billion rubles to 8.58 billion rubles, management expenses - from 1.49 billion rubles to 1.74 billion rubles.

Helicopter manufacturer Mi-8 KVZ completed the year with revenue of 60 billion rubles

In the total revenue of KVZ in 2024, the production and sales of helicopters provided 54.35 billion rubles against 47.48 billion rubles a year earlier. At the same time, 36.19 billion rubles were brought by the supply of products to the domestic Russian market, another 18.63 billion rubles - export shipments. Production and sales of spare parts for helicopters provided revenues in the amount of 3.31 billion rubles, compared with 3.36 billion rubles in 2023.

The KVZ website says that the company is developing in accordance with the technical re-equipment plan, which is part of the strategy for modernizing the production facilities of the Russian Helicopters holding. As part of this process, the KVZ is equipped with the latest high-performance equipment. In addition, unified processes are being implemented. Re-equipping the production base will help reduce production costs and increase production volumes, improve quality and reliability, as well as expand the range of helicopter equipment. KVZ closely cooperates with the M. L. Mile and N. I. Kamov National Center for Helicopter Engineering.[1]
