CarPrice was founded on July 15, 2014. This is an online auction where every used car owner can sell their car within 1.5 hours. In 2015, the company raised more than $40 million in investments, closing the most successful venture capital deal of 2015 in Russia. 2020: RDIF and Baring Vostok bought shares in CarPric

On January 23, 2020, it became known about the investment in CarPrice by a consortium consisting of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the Baring Vostok Fund and funds from Europe and the Middle East.

About the investment in CarPrice "Vedomosti" told in the RDIF. Denis Dolmatov, general director of the online car auction, confirmed the information, but refrained from further comment. The volume of investments has not been disclosed.

CarPrice intends to spend the funds raised to accelerate business growth in the Russian regions and develop the platform for corporate clients.

The publication cites data according to which by the beginning of 2020, more than 50,000 car dealers from all over the country are connected to the CarPrice platform, up to 400 auctions are held every day. The company has 130 retail outlets in 37 cities. According to its own data, more than 120 thousand cars have been sold since its inception.

Since its inception by the beginning of 2020, CarPrice has raised a total of $48 million (data from the Crunchbase portal). Earlier, Almaz Capital and Baring Vostok invested in the service.

According to the head of INFOLine-Analyst Mikhail Burmistrov, CarPrice by the beginning of 2020 ranks second in the used car market in Russia, second only to Rolf, and sells more than 32 thousand cars a year.[1]
