History
2024: Bankruptcy Declaration
At the end of March 2024, BP-Technologies LLC, specializing in the development of helicopter-type aircraft, declared bankruptcy. This enterprise, among other things, was engaged in the creation of a light passenger helicopter VRT500 and a VRT300 drone.
According to Interfax, the creditors of BP-Technologies include Russian Helicopters JSC, the Moscow Aviation Institute, the Federal Tax Service, the Social Fund of Russia, as well as 90 employees of the enterprise. In addition, the Singapore Aeroter Pte is on the list. Ltd, which, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, as of August 2021 (there is no more recent data) owned 100% in BP-Technologies.
Previously, the sole owner of BP-Technologies was Russian Helicopters. In 2019, plans to acquire 50% in the company were announced by the UAE Tawazun Defense and Security Development Fund. After entering the company's capital, Tawazun planned to order 100 units of VRT500 and VRT300. In July 2021, Singapore Aeroter received 50% of BP-Technology's capital. According to Helicopters of Russia, this completed the first stage of the transaction to sell a stake in the company to an Arab fund. In August 2021, Aeroter received 100% in BP-Technologies[1]
2021: Russian Helicopters sold 50% of BP-Technology to Tawazun Holding
On November 19, 2021, it became known that 50% of the BP-Technologies design bureau was sold to the Emirati holding Tawazun. 50% of the company retained Russian Helicopters, said Andrei Boginsky, general director of the Russian holding.
Everyone was closed in two tranches and invested in a significant part of the project for their obligations, "he told Kommersant, adding that the total cost of the project was 400 million euros. |
The proceeds "Helicopters of Russia" will spend on its own projects. The deal was approved by the government's Foreign Investment Commission.
The deal has been discussed since 2019: within the framework of the agreement, about 400 million euros were going to be invested in the development of BP-Technology. Tawazun was going to purchase 100 VRT 300 unmanned helicopters and 100 VRT 500 light multi-purpose helicopters for the needs of local organizations and police.
It is planned to produce VRT-500 in passenger, multi-purpose, cargo, training, VIP and medical-evacuation configurations. The car will have the most voluminous passenger-cargo cabin in its class with a total capacity of up to five people, reach speeds of up to 230 km/h and fly to a range of up to 1000 km.
I am confident that the investments of our Middle East partners will accelerate the implementation of VRT-300 and VRT-500 projects and give impetus to new developments in advanced helicopter and unmanned systems. Our agreements also provide for assistance in promoting these products in the markets of the Middle East and in particular the Persian Gulf. Both cars have good prospects in the region, where solutions for the development of urban airmobility are becoming more and more in demand, - said the head of Rostec Sergei Chemezov. |
In February 2021, a government commission led by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved a deal on the joint production of new helicopter models by the Arab company Tawazun and Russian Helicopters.[2]
