History

2019

In 2019, on the basis of JSC "Moscow Helicopter Plant named after M.L. Mil" and JSC "Kamov," the National Helicopter Center named after M.L. Mil and N.I. Kamov (JSC "NCV Mil and Kamov") was created. The company combined two engineering schools of domestic helicopter engineering - the Mil school and the Kamov school.

2010

According to 2010 information, the company is developing and building rotorcraft for various purposes for the Navy, ground forces and civilian operators. About 300 scientific organizations, factories and related enterprises participate in the design and serial production of the company.

In the last decade, a new generation of modern ship helicopters with highly automated aerobatic navigation systems has been created: the Ka-27 and its modifications - the search and rescue Ka-27PS, the transport and combat Ka-29, as well as the company's latest development in the field of reconnaissance helicopters - the Ka-31 radar watch has no analogues in world practice. Ka-28 and Ka-31 helicopters are delivered to China.

The experience of developing naval coaxial helicopters that ensure high maneuverability and ease of control in combination with a modern onboard electronic complex allowed the company to create a single-seat Ka-50 attack helicopter and its reconnaissance and attack modification - the Ka-52 helicopter. In terms of their flight and technical characteristics, weapons and combat qualities, helicopters are not inferior to the best world models. One of the most important activities of the company is the creation of civilian helicopters. In 1959, the operation of the Ka-115M light multi-purpose helicopter began in Aeroflot.

A multi-purpose Ka-32 helicopter was widely used in Russia and in the world. High level of flight performance of the machine, heavy load capacity (5 tons). Good maneuverability and easy handling provided him with significant advantages in the performance of construction, crane installation, transport, rescue operations. Ka-32 has proven itself well in the export of valuable wood species, extinguishing fires, ice exploration. The Ka-32 is successfully operated in Canada, Switzerland, Spain, South Korea, Portugal, Malaysia and other countries. The Ka-32 is the only domestic helicopter certified according to American airworthiness standards.

The company's new development is the Ka-226 multifunctional helicopter. It is of modular design, like its predecessor, the Ka-26 helicopter, which became the first Soviet helicopter to receive a certificate of American airworthiness standards. The ka-226 is designed to carry eight people or cargo weighing 1,500 kg on an external suspension. The modular design of the helicopter allows you to use it in a wide variety of options: passenger, transport, emergency rescue, patrol, VIP, etc. The Ka-226 helicopter is certified in category A: it is able to continue flying and make a safe landing in case of failure of one of the engines, including with hanging mode, which guarantees the safety of its operation.

Kamov sees further prospects for the development of helicopter engineering in a significant increase in the speed of rotorcraft. The company's new development is the project of a high-speed helicopter with rigid coaxial Ka-92 carriers. The helicopter is capable of covering a distance of 1400 km at a speed of up to 500 km/h.

Today, Kamov Company has the necessary potential to create helicopters for various purposes, corresponding to the best world models.

2008

October 7, 2008 Kamov turns 60 years old. Today KAMOV is a world-famous brand, behind which there are reliable, workable, and often unique machines. The company bears the name of an outstanding aviation designer, one of the creators of domestic helicopter engineering Nikolai Ilyich Kamov (1902-1973).

Under the leadership of N.I. Kamov, a design school was created for the design and development of coaxial helicopters with undeniable advantages - high maneuverability, easy handling and small dimensions. The first serial helicopter of the coaxial scheme in the country and in the world was the Ka-15 multi-purpose ship helicopter (1957). Kamov is the only company in the world that has mastered helicopters with a coaxial scheme, brought them to serial production and practical use, successfully competing in the market with global helicopter companies.

OKB Kamov was created to equip the ships of the domestic fleet with helicopters. The Ka-25 helicopter (1961) became a milestone in the formation of the design bureau. It was the first specially designed combat helicopter in the country. It was intended for the destruction of nuclear submarines. Ka-25 served in the fleet for more than 30 years.

1974

In 1974, OKB was headed by Sergey Viktorovich Mikheev. For 35 years of his work as General Designer, the coaxial scheme of helicopters was not only established and received worldwide recognition - it became the national treasure of Russia. S.V. Mikheev is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, awarded the high title of Hero of Russia.
