2021: Creation of the "Center for Data Center Technologies" on the basis of the Rostelecom-Data Center and Data Line teams
On June 22, 2021, Rostelecom announced the creation of the Center for Data Center Technologies (DPC DPC) service company on the basis of Rostelecom-Data Center and DataLine. This organization will combine the expertise and experience of specialists of two companies in the construction, operation and maintenance of data centers.
Pooling resources in this structural unit will help optimize the service of a large network of data centers in Russia, provide Rostelecom-Data Center customers with a single high level of service at all sites, as well as increase the efficiency of business and production processes, and make it possible to manage costs more flexibly.
DPC DPC will concentrate the experience and knowledge of both teams and support existing activities to equalize and unify processes in all data centers. A lot of work has already been done in this area: the qualification of employees at all sites is brought to a single level - this helps to maintain the stable work of all facilities and comply with regime measures. Specialists also led to a common standard of key business processes: from the rules for maintenance work to the organization of customer visits to data centers.
DPC DPC will accumulate and increase expertise in each technological area related to the construction, maintenance and operation of data centers. At the sites of the data center network, competence centers are created that will be engaged in the search and testing of new technologies and solutions, as well as the training of qualified engineers. Each of the centers will combine specialized expertise and experience in a certain area and share knowledge with other sites. Thanks to this project, each data center will contribute to the development of the network and will become an equivalent functional unit. The creation of centers will be another step towards a single level of service for all data centers.
A single level of service depends not only on the built processes and the level of qualification of employees, but also on the cohesion of the team. The combination of Rostelecom-Data Center and DataLine specialists in the service company will help increase the efficiency of communications, which will qualitatively improve the service of data centers.
