History

2022: O2O Holding bought Proil

In February 2022, O2O Holding, a joint venture of the VK group (formerly Mail.ru Group) and Sberbank, bought the Proil service. This is evidenced by the data of the SPARK-Interfax system.

The representative of Citimobila (part of O2O Holding) confirmed to Kommersant the fact of the transaction and explained that Proil was bought mainly to service Citidrave car sharing, "since the constantly growing service fleet requires new solutions to optimize refueling processes and fuel costs."

The buyer of service was probably interested in existence of fuel trucks with allowing documentation, the co-founder of the YouDrive car-sharing Boris Golikov said to the newspaper. According to him, the amount of the transaction could be about 50 million rubles.

VTB Capital analyst Vladimir Bespalov told the publication that buyers were rather interested in the software that is used when using such fuel trucks.

Telematics are installed on the car, and the car sharing operator understands which car does not have enough fuel. So the optimization of the use of the fleet is achieved, "he explained.

According to Bespalov, his own outbound gas station service can increase business margin and reduce dependence on third-party service providers. In addition, in his opinion, the acquired service can be made part of the Citimobila super application, so that other car owners can use it.

A newspaper source on the market says that having its own infrastructure for refueling and repairing cars has become a key element for market participants. There are a lot of cars, contractors and specialists for their maintenance, he explained.[1]
