2020: Creation of a holding company for IT

On December 24, 2020, it became known about the creation by Russian Post of a new company that will deal with IT projects. It was called "Post Digital," as evidenced by the data of the SPARK-Interfax system.

They also added that it is planned to launch joint projects of Post Digital and technology companies. With whom the first partnership agreements will be concluded, not specified. The new company was headed by Vladimir Urbansky, head of the technological direction of Russian Post.

Earlier in December 2020, the head of the Russian Post, Maxim Akimov, said that the company would separate the digital division into a separate structure and double the number of developers. The number of IT employees at the end of 2019 was measured by about 600 people.

By December 2020, Russian Post is actively engaged in IT projects, developing, in particular, an online service for sending letters and parcels for online stores. The company is also engaged in the development of its own website and mobile application and the provision of other online services. Another promising project in the Russian Post is the creation of an international logistics platform - it should ensure monitoring of the passage of the entire supply chain.

It is expected that revenue from digital services of Russian Post by the end of 2020 will reach 30-32 billion rubles, which is almost 10 times more than a year earlier, Interfax notes[1]
