History

2022: Promsvyazbank bought NPF Hefest

In early February 2022, it became known about the sale of the Gefest non-state pension fund to Promsvyazbank (PSB). According to Kommersant, the cost of the transaction could be from 400 million to 600 million rubles.

An interlocutor close to the PSB said that the strategy for the development of a small NPF "is not completely clear." At a minimum, a change of general director is being considered - the former financial director of NPF Future and the current general director of Rusmoda Olga Myamlina can head the fund.

Promsvyazbank bought NPF Hefest

NPF Hephaestus is one of the fourth dozen Russian private funds for assets. At the beginning of 2022, 29.8 thousand customers had 3.6 billion rubles of pension savings in it, 5.9 thousand participants in non-state pension programs accounted for 0.5 billion rubles of pension reserves. Prior to the transaction with PSB, Sedykh was the sole beneficiary of the fund through OMK Service.

As participants in the pension market told the publication, the rapid development of the fund on the basis of attracting clients for compulsory pension insurance (OPS) is complicated by the almost complete cessation of transitional campaigns.

There remains an NGO both through the bank's network and among defense companies. However, in the second segment, Hephaestus may face competition from Rostec funds, which are developing their voluntary programs, says one of them.

By the beginning of February 2022, Rostec occupies only 20-30% of the entire defense industry, so there is a place for the Promsvyazbank NPF, another source said. In his opinion, for the development of NGOs, large investments by the PSB are needed, but the credit institution is not ready to allocate such funds.

Kommersant recalled that PSB was thinking about re-entering the pension market in 2020. Then the bank was called a contender for NPF Safmar and NPF Bolshoi, but in the end they were bought by the Region group - Rossium[1]
