2023: Construction of the center for 1.7 billion rubles

In June 2023, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation issued a positive conclusion for the construction of the Center for Pediatric Oncology and Oncohematology of the Petrov National Medical Research Center. 1.7 billion rubles are being invested in this project, which is being implemented by the N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology. Construction of the facility will begin in 2024.

A 7-story building with an area of ​ ​ 9.6 thousand square meters. m will be built on the main site of the medical institution. It will be connected by overhead transitions with clinical, laboratory and auxiliary buildings. It will house a children's oncological department, a department of pediatric hematology with 35 beds, a cell and gene therapy laboratory with an area of ​ ​ 1179 square meters. m, as well as departments for the rehabilitation and storage of bone marrow. It is assumed that the center will carry out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that are necessary for minor patients.

In total, the structure of the N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology by June 2023 has 17 scientific divisions, 20 clinical departments, 16 auxiliary clinical departments, 3 outpatient and diagnostic departments. The center employs more than 1.1 thousand employees, among them - corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctors and candidates of medical sciences, doctors of the highest medical category.

On the basis of the Scientific Department of Oncoimmunology of the N.N. Petrov Oncology Research Center by the end of 2023, it is planned to repair the premises for the experimental production of biomedical cell products (BMCP). Repair of premises with an area of ​ ​ 200 square meters. m was estimated at 33 million rubles. Production will appear on the ground floor of the laboratory building of the main site of the center in the village of Pesochny, St. Petersburg.^[1]
