2017: Creation
In June 2017, Inter RAO UES and SAP registered a joint venture of Inter RAO Platform LLC (according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, registration date - June 28, 2017), which is located in Innopolis, an innovative city of the Republic of Tatarstan. The authorized capital of the joint venture amounted to over 4 billion rubles, while the share of 19% belongs to SAP CIS LLC, and 81% to Inter RAO IT, a subsidiary of Inter RAO UES. Ivan Nikolaevich Shmykov is indicated as the general director of the joint venture.[1]
Anton Nazarov, director of public relations - head of the information policy unit of Inter RAO, told Interfax about the goals of creating the joint venture. As he explained, as part of the implementation of the Digital Economy program in Russia, adopted by order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1632-r of July 28, 2017, Inter RAO is working to create its own IT products that can in the future become an alternative to existing Western solutions on the market. To this end, it was decided to start joint work with SAP CIS and open a joint venture on the basis of the Innopolis special economic zone.
