Gigya  — the software developer founded in 2006 for management of the identification information. The platform developed by the company allows business to use registration data of clients for creation of portraits of buyers and determination of their preferences. These data can be applied in applications and business processes to sales increase.

Gigya is founded in Israel, however afterwards the headquarters was thrown in the USA. By September, 2017 the company attracted in total nearly $106 million investments.

About 1.3 billion client identification profiles are stored in the system of Gigya. 700 large companies among which a half of the largest websites of the USA and also such known European brands as Asos, Bayer, L’Oreal and KLM appears are among clients of vendor.

2017: SAP buys Gigya

In September, 2017 the German producer of the corporate software of SAP announced purchase of Gigya for the purpose of strengthening of positions in the fast-growing market of online technologies of marketing of customer interaction.

As a result of the transaction which is going to be closed in the fourth quarter 2017 SAP will connect the platform of identification of clients and access control of Gigya to own system of e-commerce SAP Hybris that clients could promote services on the Internet.

SAP did not disclose the acquisition value of Gigya. According to Reuters agency, some Israeli media report the amount of $350 million.

In 2013 Gigya became the partner of Hybris company which SAP purchased the same year. After a design of all formalities concerning sale of Gigya, this company will join the marketing division of SAP Hybris developing so-called omnichannel integration by means of which the companies can keep the customer accounting irrespective of a shopping method (on the Internet, in physical or online stores, via mobile devices).[1]
