2009

Sybase took the leading positions in Gartner Quadrant in the field of corporate wireless mail solutions in 2009; in the research Forrester Wave in the field of platforms for creation of corporate data warehouses in the first quarter 2009 and the report "Forrester Wave: Solutions on mobile device management" in May, 2009; IDC defines Sybase as leader in the field of mobile device management the eighth year in a row (June, 2009) and the leader in the field of mobile middleware the 7th year in a row (July, 2009).

Sybase technologies provide activity of 90% of the firms of the world working with securities and 60% of banks, with their help 70-80% of all transactions which are carried out on the Wall Street are also performed.

Sybase CIS

Sybase CIS works in Russia and the CIS countries since 1996. Examination of the company extends to all range of products and solutions of Sybase connected with data lifecycle management, obtaining new information, solving of tasks of analytics and mobilization. In the CIS regular customers of Sybase are 80 financial institutions among which there are largest Banks of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus (Sberbank, Gazprombank, Uralsib, National Reserve Bank. "International investment bank", Transcreditbank, Soyuz bank, PrivatBank, "First Ukrainian Bank", Raiffeisen, Bank "Aval", "Prominvestbank" and others). These companies use Sybase technology for performing transactions of "back office", retail and investment banking.

Sybase also actively develops the program for higher education institutions and supports the academic community by free providing the software, technical support and skills of work with solutions of Sybase worldwide to help students in the field of IT better to master the studied technologies. Within this program to higher education institution any can be transferred to software of the company. In Russia Sybase cooperates with the Moscow state technical university, the Russian economic academy of Plekhanov, the Russian academy of public service, St. Petersburg State University, Institute of systems analysis of RAS, the Tula state university, the Omsk state university and other Higher education institutions of the country.

History

• For range extension of offers for the market of financial services, Sybase purchased Aleri company. According to the management of Sybase it is acquisition will strengthen the analytical platform of the company and will strengthen its leading position in order that it is better to meet requirements of the enterprises and financial services for analytics in real time.

• Sybase signed the partnership agreement with SAP company which purpose is cooperation in integration of mobile cross-platform Sybase technologies with business applications of SAP.

2010

In July, 2010 SAP AG announced completion of the procedure of acquisition of Sybase company. Acquisition was complete by short-term merge according to the legislation of the State of Delaware within which Sheffield Acquisition Corp., the subsidiary company which is in the complete indirect property of SAP company was merged into Sybase corporation. As a result of such merge Sybase became the absolute affiliated enterprise of company SAP America, USA operating with affiliated enterprise of SAP company. As a result of merge all placed shares of Sybase company which were not included in the previous tender offer (except for stocks of company Sybase, SAP America or their absolute subsidiary companies and also actions which are owned by shareholders who properly perform assessment rights according to the legislation of the State of Delaware) were transformed to the right of receiving 65 US dollars by cash at the rate on one action without percent taking into account payment of all necessary taxes; the same compensation is paid to shareholders within the tender offer.
