History
2022: SAP SE bought Taulia
At the end of January 2022, SAP bought a controlling stake in Taulia. The financial component of the transaction of the company did not disclose.
The Taulia deal will allow SAP to provide customers with better access to liquidity and improve their cash flows. This acquisition will further expand the SAP business network and strengthen the company's solutions for CFOs. Taulia will operate as an independent company under its own brand in the SAP Group. Cedric Brew will remain CEO of Taulia, and SAP CFO Luka Mucic will become chairman of the company's board of directors.
Taulia offers early payments through supply chain finance, dynamic discounting and receivables financing. Difficult economic conditions and supply chain disruptions have significantly increased demand for early payments, and the working capital management market has grown significantly. Taulia is known for its advanced technologies and has one of the best sets of solutions in the working capital management market. The company has also created a strong ecosystem of financial partners that provide the necessary funding, including J.P. Morgan, UniCredit and other well-known banks.
Taulia is an important SAP partner with proven solution integration. More than 80% of the company's customer base uses the SAP ERP system, in particular Airbus, Nissan and AstraZeneca. SAP plans to strengthen integration with Taulia both in the direction of SAP Business Network and in the direction of developing a solution package for CFOs. Once the transaction is closed, Taulia solutions will be available individually for customers who are not SAP users.
The deal with Taulia will benefit the SAP ecosystem: as suppliers, SAP customers can increase their liquidity with early payment options with predictable off-balance sheet financing. As buyers, they can make full use of payment terms by strengthening their relationship with suppliers.[1]
