Completion of the transaction of Emarsys-SAP
On November 9, 2020 the SAP SE company announced completion of the transaction on acquisition of Emarsys company, the supplier of omnichannel platforms for customer interaction. Terms of transaction are not disclosed.
The products Emarsys will be added to a portfolio of the SAP solutions Customer Experience.
"Now, when Emarsys officially became a part of SAP Customer Experience, we look forward to the beginning of joint work to learn about each other more and to create such product portfolio which will be larger, than the amount of separate solutions of two companies, - the president of SAP Customer Experience Bob Shtuts said. - Thanks to strengths of our existing solutions and integration with Emarsys, the portfolio of SAP Customer Experience will become the base for the multichannel personalized customer interaction where it is convenient to them, and taking into account channels which they prefer". |
SAP purchased Emarsys
On October 1, 2020 SAP announced Emarsys acquisition, but preferred to save the cost of the transaction in a secret. Thanks to this purchase the German producer of the corporate software will help clients to adjust communications with the customers in all online canals.
It is going to close the transaction in the fourth quarter 2020. As soon as it occurs, Emarsys will be a part of division of Customer Experience which created SAP based on the Qualtrics company purchased for $8 billion. It is noted that Qualtrics became a key link in the strategy of development for cloud computing of SAP as this company is directed to consolidation of these clients with operational data.
According to Emarsys, the company offers a professional cloud platform for automation of multi-channel marketing. The maximum of data on the clients for automation of personal communications helps marketing specialists to use the solution. The control of all channels (e-mail, the SMS, push-notifications, the Internet, social networks, etc.) is under uniform "roof". It allows marketing specialists to be focused on strategy and a creative and gives the chance to approach in a complex solving of tasks of monetization, increase in loyalty and customer retention, declared in Emarsys.
According to general SAP of Christian Klein, the company, having absorbed Emarsys, will be able to offer a product portfolio, allowing clients of a message "a business activity anywhere". The main objective of this acquisition of SAP is in better to integrate data the front - and a back office and also the personalized customer feedback.
By the beginning of October, 2020 Emarsys has about 1500 clients worldwide and 800 employees. The headquarters is in Vienna (Austria).[1]
