History

2024: Avito increases to 100% stake in Haraba

Avito became the 100% owner of the Haraba used car ad aggregator. This is evidenced by the data of the Kontur. Focus service, with which TAdviser got acquainted in early July 2024.

It follows from Kontur. Focus that KEH eCommerce LLC (a legal entity of the Avito service) became the sole owner of Haraba LLC. Previously, Avito owned a 67% stake in Haraba.

An Avito spokesman confirmed to Shopper's that the company completed Haraba's consolidation by exercising the 33% option.

Haraba says it collects car listings from all popular sites. The service works with both resellers and private customers according to the subscription model. By the beginning of July 2024, it costs from 2,000 to 6,000 rubles.

According to the founder of the analytical agency Dsight Arseny Dabbach, the purchase of 67% of Haraba could cost Avito $3.5 million (about 280 million rubles) with an estimate of $5 million for the entire company. Partner of the venture capital fund FRIIDmitry Kalaev estimates the deal in a similar range - from 100 million rubles to 300 million rubles.

Avito explains the interest in Haraba by examining the team in reselling cars from private resellers.

According to Haraba co-founder Andrei Reduto, there were other applicants for the purchase. The names of the companies in Haraba are not disclosed. However, the team was already working with Avito and felt "more chemistry at the business level and in the food culture."

As a result of the deal, Haraba divided the business into a B2C service for resellers and a B2B service for dealers. The dealer product was combined with MaxPoster into one legal entity - Baer McSpaster LLC. It was named "Autohab," and Haji Kurbanov became its CEO.[1]

2022: "Avito" bought 67% of Haraba

On July 13, 2022, it became known about the sale of 67% of Haraba to Avito. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Before the transaction, 5 individuals were co-owners of Haraba: Haji Kurbanov, Andrei Reduto (31.88% each), Kamil Hajiyev (21.25%), Mikhail Tyurin (10%), Dmitry Kovalev (5%).

Haraba also provides services for b2b and b2c. The functionality includes the ability to assess the car as accurately as possible, check its history and legal purity, sell the car on credit in order to earn money with commission fees, and more.

Avito has been operating in the car advertising segment since 2012. In particular, the company has a service for checking the history of the car before buying Avtotek.

As noted by TASS, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Transtehservice Group of Companies, President of the Association of Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD) Vyacheslav Zubarev, Avito currently has a strong product team and a wide customer base, and Haraba is a recognized center of expertise on car buybacks.

Combining these two teams will create good conditions for creating new opportunities for customers, including dealers. The importance of the used car business is now greater than ever for the dealer community, and we hope that this strategic partnership will improve service and expand opportunities, but will not infringe on the strategic interests of dealers, he said.[2]Haraba's[3]
