Recovery of 46.6 billion rubles by bailiffs
Bailiffs in September 2024 began the process of recovering ₽46,6 billion from the Ariant agricultural holding. The proceedings are related to the results of the trial at the suit of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia. The recovery is carried out as part of the process of nationalization of the holding, which includes the seizure of its assets and the transfer of property to the state. Information on the start of enforcement proceedings was confirmed by the database of enforcement proceedings and the SBIS service.
According to URA.RU, the proceedings relate to compensation for damage in the recourse order. The database states that the amount of recovery is more than forty-six billion rubles, and the company's accounts have been seized since March 29, 2024. The courts are considering the issue of the prosecutor's claim, which refers to causing losses to the state during the illegal privatization of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (CHEMK).
The Ariant holding, founded by Alexander Aristov, includes several large enterprises, such as the Yuzhnaya agricultural company, the Ariant Food Industry Center, Kuban-Vino, and the Ariant pork agricultural company. In April 2024, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, all assets of the company were transferred to the state.
Together with Aristov and his son-in-law Alexander Kretov, joint responsibility for the payment of damage in the amount of ₽105 billion is also assigned to their business partners - the Antipovs. This amount, as the publication clarifies, is recovered against losses incurred by the state as a result of the illegal privatization of CHEMK. The enterprise was also nationalised, part of a general campaign to return strategic assets to public ownership.
The former owners of Ariant and CHEMK have repeatedly challenged the legality of the claims of the Prosecutor General's Office and the decision of the courts. Nevertheless, all attempts to suspend the process of nationalization and stop the collection of funds did not lead to success.[1]
