2023: Purchase by Softline Group

Softline Group of Companies, a provider of solutions and services in the field of digital transformation and information security, closed the deal to acquire the Russian developer AKB Barrier. This was reported to TAdviser on July 10, 2023 by representatives of Softline. The group of companies expects that this will significantly expand the product area of ​ ​ the Inferit vendor.

Softline acquired the developer of secure computing equipment JSCB "Barrier"

AKB "Barrier" is a player in the Russian market for the development of certified protected computer equipment. Special refinement of technical means allows you to issue individual solutions that fully comply with the requirements of the FSTEC certificate of Russia. Customers and potential users of Barrier JSCB are organizations of various legal forms that have special requirements for information protection. According to the company, in two years of production, more than 1000 units of products were produced and operated in various organizations.

With the purchase of Barrier JSCB, the Inferit product portfolio was replenished with expertise on the development of secure computing equipment. Thanks to the connection of the Barrier JSCB team, Softline got the opportunity to offer an ecosystem of products on the secure systems market: one vendor combines software, hardware and technologies that allow processing sensitive information.

The deal will allow Barrier JSCB to strengthen business scaling and gain access to Softline resources for more active distribution of solutions among Russian customers. In addition, the integration of the products of Barrier and Inferit will enable customers to get a comprehensive certified solution with unified technical support, noted in Softline Group of Companies.

According to Roman Parshin, General Director at Barrier JSCB, by combining with Softline, the company will be able to, among other things: expand the geography of potential consumer customers of secure computing equipment; quickly implement and work out various new solutions in the technology of special modification of PCs directly at the production stage; apply an integrated approach to special rework of PC both at the software and hardware levels to the norms required by the regulator; develop new promising information protection tools.

He also added that the company expects to take leadership positions in this niche by providing a comprehensive solution and supporting professional engineers and integrators.

In January 2024, it became known that Softline would pay up to 274 million rubles for the purchase of Barrier Battery. It is expected that the products of the Barrier battery will complement the Inferit hardware product line from Softline.
