2024: Robot pharmacy launch

The first robot pharmacy appeared in Moscow. Metropolitan Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote about the implementation of this project on the basis of the City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after Vorokhobov in his Telegram channel on February 5, 2024.

According to the mayor, the high-tech system automates all pharmacy processes, including the receipt, accounting and storage of drugs. In addition, as noted by Sobyanin, the robot checks the shelf life of drugs and their compliance with consignment notes, forms the necessary orders for hospital departments. This greatly simplifies and accelerates the work of doctors, the mayor emphasized. Moscow

The first robot pharmacy appeared in Moscow

The principle of the system was told in the City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after Vorokhobov. The website of the medical institution reports that orders for a certain set of medicines are received from the hospital departments to the robotic pharmacy. These orders are loaded into the Smart Pharmacy electronic system and the system automatically collects this order. Collecting one order takes less than a minute.

It is noted that the premises of the Smart Pharmacy, unlike the traditional one, which was previously used by the clinic for a hospital pharmacy, are 4 times less, but at the same time it can accommodate up to 100 thousand packages of pharmaceuticals. At the same time, unlike humans, the robot does not get tired and does not make mistakes related to the human factor. The system works 24/4, noted in the hospital.

As part of the second stage of the project, it is planned to introduce an algorithm for the set of drugs personally for each patient - each patient will be prescribed drugs according to an individual QR code, they will be distributed in individual containers according to the reception regime, the nurse will only have to deliver them at the right time.

As Sergei Sobyanin added, Smart Pharmacy is a pilot project. If it is recognized as effective, such robotic pharmacies will appear in other hospitals in Moscow.[2]
