Kirill Dmitriev (April 12, 1975) - General Director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
Biography
- 1996 - Graduated from Stanford University with the highest honors.
- 2000 - MBA Harvard Business School with the highest distinction (Baker Scholar).
- 1996-1999 - worked at Goldman Sachs investment bank in New York and at McKinsey & Company consulting company in Los Angeles , Moscow and Prague.
- 2000 - 2002 - worked in the Information Business of the System company (IBS), till November 8, 2001 - the deputy CEO, and then till May 29, 2002 - the managing director of department of administrative [1] [2]}}.
- 2002-2007 - first - Director of Investments at the Delta Private Equity fund, which manages $500 million in capital. Later - managing director and partner. Conducted a number of significant transactions for the Russian investment market: the sale of Delta Bank to GE; Societe Generale's Delta Credit Bank; shares of STS Media of Fidelity Investments; TV 3 holding company Profmedia; group of companies "NKS" holding "Basic Element"; shares of the company "Complink" consortium of investment funds; as well as NTK of NMG.
- 2005-2006 - Chairman of the Russian Association of Direct and Venture Investment (RAVI).
- 2007-2011 - Managing Partner and President of the Icon Private Equity Private Equity Fund with capital under management of more than $1 billion.
Kirill Dmitriyev carried out a number of significant investment transactions in Russia: the sale of DeltaBank to General Electric, DeltaCredit to Societe Generale, shares of STS Media to Fidelity Investments, TV channel TV3 Profmedia holding, National Cable Networks Group to Basic Element Holding, sale of Complink to a consortium of funds and NTK holding Bank Russia. He began his career at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company.
- In 2009, he founded the Kirill Dmitriev Foundation for Social Initiatives. The goal of the fund is to comprehensively support and develop social initiatives that are aimed at improving the standard of living in Ukraine and developing the ideology of "economic pragmatism." One of the activities of the fund is to strengthen social and cultural ties between Ukraine and Russia. The first project of the Kirill Dmitriev Foundation for Social Initiatives was "One World of Creativity," which opened on December 7, 2009 with a concert at the Ukrainian National Philharmonic. The concert was attended by young talented musicians from Russia and Ukraine, who performed works accompanied by the legendary chamber state orchestra "Virtuosi of Moscow."
- In 2010, Kirill Dmitriyev was included in the List of Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum in Davos [3] and serves on the Supervisory Board of the Harvard Business Review (Russia).
- In 2011, he became the only representative of Russia in the ranking of "100 most influential professionals in the FDI industry over the past 10 years" (Private Equity International).
- Since April 2011 - General Director of the Management Company of the Russian Direct Investment Fund
Kirill Dmitriyev is the Deputy Chairman of the Investment Council under the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. He headed the Business Twenty (B20) investment and infrastructure task force. He is a member of the board and holds the position of Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP). By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Kirill Dmitriyev was appointed one of the five members of the BRICS Business Council, as well as one of the three members of the APEC Business Advisory Council (DCS). Included in the list of Young Global Leaders (YGL) of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He has a bachelor's degree in economics with the highest honors from Stanford University and an MBA with the highest honors from Harvard University (Baker Scholar).
In April 2014, at an extraordinary meeting of shareholders, he was elected to the board of directors of Rostelecom.
2021: Membership on the Board of Directors of the Skolkovo Foundation
At the end of January 2021, the Skolkovo Foundation elected a new board of directors. It included 13 members, including Kirill Dmitriyev. Read more here.
2022: US sanctions
On February 28, 2022, US sanctions were announced against the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and its head Kirill Dmitriev. They were included in the SDN List, which provides for a complete blocking of assets. Read more here.
2025: Appointment as Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries
In February 2025, the RDIF announced that General director Kirill Dmitriyev was appointed Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries. In his new capacity, he will continue to develop investment and economic cooperation with the countries of the Global South and with Western states, including the United States. It is noted that at the same time the Dmitriyev retains the current position of the head of the RDIF.[4]
