Nationalization of the plant
On September 10, 2024, the Leninsky District Court Yekaterinburg ruled on the nationalization of the Sverdlovsk Iset electric connection plant, transferring the enterprise to ownership. states The plant, previously owned by the former deputy, State Duma Malku Gaysin was confiscated as part of a lawsuit by the Prosecutor General's Office, Russia which accused Gaysin of violating anti-corruption laws. This decision is repeated: earlier in 2023, the court had already satisfied the requirements of the prosecutor's office, but Supreme Court of Russia canceled this decision and sent the case for reconsideration.
The Prosecutor General's Office claims that Malik Gaysin, owning shares in the Iset plant through structures controlled by him, continued to illegally manage the enterprise, despite his duties as a deputy. The lawsuit says that Malik Gaysin, becoming a deputy in 1996, left commercial organizations only formally, continuing to influence the management of the plant and make key decisions that, according to prosecutors, were corrupt in nature. As a result of these actions, Malik Gaysin received personal benefits, which contradicts the requirements of anti-corruption legislation.
According to Kommersant, the Iset plant has long been an important element of defense production, fulfilling orders for the Russian Ministry of Defense. However, according to the prosecutor's office, under the leadership of Malika Gaysin, the enterprise faced financial problems, and the funds allocated for the fulfillment of the state defense order were used for personal purposes. The prosecutor's office also claims that the documents of the plant were moved to Gaysin's private office, where accounting was conducted under the protection of private security companies.[1]
