2024: Revenue growth 16.1% to ₽6 billion

The Kaliningrad Amber Plant, the leading amber producer in the world, increased revenue by 16.1% by the end of 2024, bringing it to ₽5,96 billion. The company, which is part of the Rostec Group of Companies, remains the world's leading supplier of amber. Financial performance data was released on March 13, 2025.

According to Interfax, citing the company's financial report, the company's net profit in 2024 amounted to ₽1,3 billion, which is 2.1 times higher than in 2023. The main contribution to revenue growth was made by sales of raw amber, which reached ₽5,28 billion, an increase of 20.8%.

Revenues from the sale of finished amber products amounted to ₽447 million. During the reporting period, the company processed 9 tons of raw amber, of which 176 thousand products were produced. Among the products produced: 63,406 products in silver and 2,096 products in gold.

According to the publication, the geography of raw amber exports includes, Russia,, China,, Kuwait, and Armenia. Kyrgyzstan Hong Kong UAE Through Serbia the auction trading system, the company sold 11 tons of 120 kg of raw amber for a total of ₽85 million. A total of 11 auctions were held.

Kaliningrad Amber Plant is the only enterprise carrying out industrial amber mining in the Kaliningrad region. 95% of the global reserves of this mineral are concentrated on the coast of the region near the village of Yantarny, which provides the plant with a leading position in the global market. In 2024, KJK produced 627 tons of amber.

The company actively invests in the development of production. In 2024, the volume of investments amounted to ₽1,14 billion. The Kaliningrad Amber Plant is a significant taxpayer in the region - the amount of taxes paid during the reporting period reached ₽1,97 billion.^[1]

2015

KJK's revenue in 2015 increased by 30%, and the mill's net profit increased 18 times compared to 2014. Production and processing volumes of raw amber increased by 28%. In 2015, 313 tons of amber were mined, in 2014 the volume amounted to 244 tons.

At the end of 2015, tax contributions to budgets of all levels increased by a total of 23% compared to 2014. In 2014, 240 million rubles were transferred to the federal, regional and local budgets, in 2015 - 294 million rubles. Rostec paid significant attention to strengthening the personnel potential of the enterprise. Today, the average salary at KJK is one of the highest in the country. At the end of 2015, it amounted to almost 46 thousand rubles.

Yantarny Jewelry Industry launched six new workshops and production sites for amber processing with a total area of ​ ​ 286 sq.m. The production premises, the heating system, were repaired, which were not repaired for more than 20 years. New modern amber processing equipment has been installed for a total of 6.2 million rubles.

New technologies are being modernized and introduced. In 2015, for the first time in many years, the company began updating its production fleet. As a result, equipment was purchased to work in the quarry for a total amount of more than 68 million rubles.

2016, we will continue to update the capacity of the enterprise. With the support of Rostec, a project for the reconstruction and modernization of the Kaliningrad Amber Plant is being developed. New promising methods of amber processing are being mastered, innovative technologies are being introduced, and an assortment of products is being updated. In addition to technical re-equipment, the plan includes a comprehensive reform of the amber sales system and work with counterparties. In our work, we pay great attention to building business and mutually beneficial relations with domestic processors and foreign partners, solving the most important social problems of the region of presence. We strive to revive the amber brand in our country, and will continue to draw the attention of different audiences to the "sunstone" not only in Russia, but also abroad.
