2025: Building a Company
Rostec State Corporation, through its subsidiary RT-Design Technologies, together with industrial integrator UltimaTek, has created a joint venture RT-UltimaTek to import substitution of secure wireless communications at industrial facilities. The official announcement of the start of the new company was made on April 23, 2025.
According to the press service of Rostec, the new solution is designed to replace the expensive foreign counterparts of Private LTE and the outdated industrial Wi-Fi. The technology will provide a high-speed, secure short-range radio network for industrial facilities, eliminating restrictions on the use of mobile networks and Wi-Fi in factory areas.
The key advantages of the development are secure data transfer, low cost compared to existing solutions, quick installation (one month instead of six months) and no need for capital investment in cable lines.
UltimaTek CEO Pavel Rastopshin stressed that the spread of infrastructure solutions for smart production is being hampered by the high price of LTE private mobile communications and security problems with standard Wi-Fi networks. The new solution will cost about three times the market price thanks to the use of specialized frequency and a customized network core, while providing the best level of information protection while maintaining high performance.
The universal secure wireless communication system from RT-UltimaTek will provide high-speed data transfer between various devices in production, including sensors, robots, machines and process control systems.
The Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation Alexander Nazarov noted that the technology will create a digital ecosystem at industrial enterprises, ensuring the collection, analysis and management of information from production equipment in real time. As a result of the implementation, process control will take to a new level, productivity will increase and protection against cyber threats will increase.[1]
