JSC "Moscow Sapphire Plant" is a serial manufacturer of optoelectronic devices. It is part of Shvabe JSC (data as of January 2022).

History

2021

As of 2021, the plant mass-produces photodetectors and photodetectors based on silicon, indium antimonide, cadmium telluride and mercury. A number of multi-spectral photodetectors and photodetectors for homing heads are under development at the Central Design Bureau of the plant; R&D is underway to create cooled matrix IR photodetectors and photodetector devices of 2 and 3 generations.

Abrasives for precision processing of electronic materials have been developed and are available. On the basis of laser thermal cracking technology, devices for cutting sheet glass have been developed and produced, technologies for precision separation of sapphire, quartz, semiconductor materials and epitaxial structures have been developed.

2016

The infrastructure of the Russian research and production complex includes clean production facilities with an area of 7.5 thousand square meters, a factory for the production of deionized water, an autonomous energy and gas supply center, an integrated production waste disposal system, as well as a design center and research laboratories in key areas of nanotechnology. The implementation of the Angstrem-T project will allow replacing imported integrated circuits in key industries, as well as serve the development of Russian instrument making.

2010

For more than 70 years, the Moscow Sapphire Plant has been the leading serial manufacturer of optoelectronic devices in Russia. The plant produces semiconductor infrared photodetectors and photodetectors based on Si, Ge, InSb and CdHgTe, designed for thermal imaging, thermal direction finding systems, military and civil automation systems. Under the conversion program, since 1985, the development and production of advanced medical equipment for clinical and outpatient research has begun.
