JSC NTC Atlas is a specialized enterprise for the implementation of works in the field of information security in the interests of federal state authorities of the Russian Federation, law enforcement agencies, as well as other customers. History
2020: Reorganization of Atlas Research and Development Center JSC
FSUE NTC Atlas, which is part of the Avtomatika concern of the Rostec state corporation, has been reorganized into joint-stock company Scientific and Technical Center Atlas (abbreviated name of NTC Atlas JSC). This was reported on September 22, 2020 by the Avtomatika concern. The company performs work in the field of information security in the interests of federal government bodies of Russia, law enforcement agencies and commercial customers. Alexander Nikolaevich Gridin has been appointed General Director of NTC Atlas JSC.

2018: NTC "Atlas" transferred to "Automation"

2017
In November 2017, a decree of President Russia Vladimir Putin "On a property contribution of the Russian Federation to the state corporation" "Rostec appeared," in pursuance of which on December 12, 2017 the Government issued an order to transform Atlas into a joint-stock company. In accordance with the latest document, this company should have 100% of the shares in federal ownership, and the block of shares itself was transferred as a property contribution to the Russian Federation to Rostec - for their subsequent introduction into the authorized capital of Concern Avtomatika joint-stock company in the order of payment for additional shares placed by the concern in connection with an increase in its authorized capital.
2013
Areas of activity
Atlas is engaged in special communications, that is, first of all, information security. The center produces, installs and maintains secure means of communication and data transmission. He is also responsible for supporting information and telecommunication systems of state authorities, conducts equipment certification (data for January 2013).
In the 2000s, from the large projects of the enterprise, the creation of communication and data transmission systems in the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Accounts Chamber, the Supreme and Constitutional Courts, the Federal Treasury and the Ministry of Finance can be distinguished. Atlas was engaged in the situation center of the President of Russia. This center is also responsible for information security in the manufacture and registration of new generation passports.
At this time, the areas of activity of the enterprise were:
- development and implementation of information protection systems and tools,
- secure cellular communication systems,
- electronic document management tools,
- holographic protective technologies,
- smart cards and systems based on them.
Atlas has developed and is implementing a secure cellular telephone with SMP-Atlas/2 crypto protection through the retail networks of MTS and Megafon operators. Also, these devices are supplied to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergencies.
Competition for the position of CEO
In early January 2013, it became known that on January 15, 2013, a competition will be held to fill the post of General Director of FSUE Atlas Scientific and Technical Center. Information about the competition was published on the website of the Ministry of Communications.
As the director of the information and public relations department of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Ekaterina Osadchaya explained to CNews, the holding of such a competition is due to the fact that the current general director of Atlas Alexander Gridin ends the contract. Also, the official representative of the ministry says that the work of Alexander Gridinavedomstvo is satisfied, and he himself has submitted documents for participation in the choice of a new leader. The names of other participants in the competition were not disclosed. According to the Contour-Focus service, since October 2012, Gridin has been the acting general director of Atlas.

Re-election of the CEO
On January 15, 2013, Alexander Gridin was recognized as the winner of the competition of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications to fill the post of General Director of the Atlas Scientific and Technical Center. 2011-2012
According to Kontur.focus, since 2011 Atlas has 1397 government contracts totaling 13.4 billion rubles. In addition, Atlas itself acted as a state customer 1721 times, having concluded contracts for 7.2 billion rubles since October 2012.
2007-2009

2006
Atlas was remembered by the general IT public as a scandalous technically failed project to create a Unified State Automated Information System intended for state control over the production and turnover of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products (EGAIS). During its implementation in 2006, due to numerous technical failures, trading in many networks turned out to be almost paralyzed[4].
2004

1951: Formation of FSUE NTC Atlas
