Receiving grenades of ₽100 million for the development of drones

In November 2025, Togliatti State University became one of the universities that receive a grant of ₽100 million for further development. The funds are aimed, among other things, at creating hybrid power plants for cars and unmanned systems.

The decision was made following the results of the report of the university team on the results of activities for 2025. The assessment was carried out by the Council for the Support of University Development Programs. Funding is provided under the Priority 2030 program.

Togliatti State University received a grant of ₽100 million for the development of drones

The financial model of the university, presented in the report of the TSU team, demonstrates a way to sustainable development. Growth is driven by a faster increase in revenue from innovation and R&D.

By 2030, it is planned to create more than 30 new products with a high level of technological readiness. The development will be brought to a stage that allows their commercial use and industrial implementation.

TSU specialists are working on new materials and technologies for unmanned systems. The studies cover several areas related to the lightening of the structure and increasing the efficiency of power plants.

The university is engaged in the creation of a lightweight internal combustion engine with the maximum possible use of magnesium alloys. The use of light metals makes it possible to reduce the weight of the power plant without losing strength characteristics. This is critical for unmanned aerial vehicles, where every kilogram of weight affects flight range and carrying capacity.

A hybrid power plant based on magnesium alloys is also being developed. Hybrid systems combine an internal combustion engine with electrical components, which increases energy efficiency and expands applications. The use of magnesium alloys in the hybrid plant design provides additional weight reduction.

Another area of work is the introduction of automatic ultrasonic welding. The technology makes it possible to connect parts made of magnesium alloys with high accuracy and reliability. The automation of the welding process improves the performance and stability of the joints.[1]

Opening of Master's Program on Information Modeling Technology in Construction

At the Architectural construction Institute Tolyatti state of the University, the acceptance of applications for the master's program "Technology" is nearing completion. information modeling in construction The program is aimed at training TIM managers and is implemented jointly with a ASCON leading engineering developer. software This was announced on August 12, 2025 by ASCON.

As reported, graduates of the program will be able to manage information modeling processes, relying on the wide possibilities of domestic software. The main digital tools of the program will be the Renga design system and the Pilot-BIM common data environment.

As part of the training, students will study the standards and rules for organizing information modeling, the creation and application of a digital information model (CIM) at different stages of the life cycle of a capital construction facility. The curriculum includes courses on the development and implementation of the TIM standard, TIM project planning, preparation of CIM for expertise, programming in TIM tasks, information protection.

Separate educational modules will be conducted by experts from the ASCON Volga Regional Center:

  • Analysis and Quality Control of the Consolidated Digital Information Model
  • IFC format for data exchange of digital information models (CIM)
  • Organization of general data environment in construction
  • Arrangement of computer-aided design systems.

The project method used in the program will allow working out knowledge in practice: when working together on the project, each team member will master the role of TIM-master, TIM-coordinator, TIM-manager.

The program is designed for two years and is implemented in person using remote technologies. According to the results of the training, TIM managers will be able to find a job in design institutes, architectural bureaus, developer companies, construction customer services, industrial and infrastructure corporations.

2024: Agreement with UserGate to develop personnel capacity in the field of information security

UserGate and Togliatti State University have signed an agreement on a strategic partnership to develop human resources in the field of information security. UserGate announced this on October 14, 2024.

Within the framework of cooperation, TSU will include in the educational program students studying in the specialty Information Security, a course on UserGate products. Based on the results of the training, students will receive not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical experience in working with the company's equipment, as well as the opportunity to pass certification, obtain the official status of a certified UserGate specialist and thus increase their demand in the labor market.

Having become an academic partner of UserGate, TSU will free of charge receive a set of teaching materials and a license for software for UserGate products to conduct the educational process in the main disciplines.

The agreement was signed as part of the UserGate Educational Partnership program, which includes a set of activities aimed at promoting information security among students, as well as improving their professional training. Among them are assistance in organizing and sponsoring Olympiads, production practices and internships, conducting consultations and master classes and other events that allow young specialists to become part of the UserGate community, gain new acquaintances and connections, and expand their professional competencies. As of October 2024, thirty universities of the country take part in the UserGate Educational Partnership program, and more than 1,300 students have studied.
