The National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH) in November, 2017 announced implementation of psychometric model of scoring of EFL in credit "pipelines" of creditors. This model of psychoscoring was developed by the research laboratory Entrepreneurial Finance Lab (EFL) created in 2006 at the Harvard center of the international development.
The feature of this model consists in a possibility of its application not only as an independent product at assessment risk profile of the citizens never applying for the loan but also as the additional tool of traditional risk assessment of borrowers using classical scoring.
Behavioural tasks which types, among other things, are used in the field of personnel recruitment are the cornerstone of psychoscoring of EFL. By these tests it is possible to investigate intentions of the person, "to measure" his such qualities as obligation and conscientiousness and also capability and an opportunity to earn money. On the basis of these characteristics of the identity of the potential borrower the corresponding indicators having high predictive usefulness for assessment risk profile of the borrower are under construction. Here it is about capability of the borrower to pay, in principle, and his readiness to pay on debts. Quantitative assessment of these characteristics and their subsequent testing on selection of "good" and "bad" borrowers, information on whom is available in NBKI, allow the creditor to make the decision on issue of the credit to it (or failure in it).
"Successful results of use of psychoscoring of EFL in different regions of the world allow to consider psychometrics as the real management tool credit risks, - the director of scorings of FICO Koneva Elena comments. – At the same time scope of psychometrics in retail lending is very extensive. Psychoscoring is effective not only in a segment of the youngest borrowers who do not have credit history but also in other age groupes in which assessment risk profile using traditional methods is also complicated. Besides, also sharing of classical scoring of bureau and psychoscoring of EFL, as an auxiliary tool of assessment of credit risk of borrowers with informative credit history is possible".
"Taking into account that most of borrowers, to some extent, are already known to the creditors relevant there is a question of how to estimate credit risk of citizens with zero credit history, including, in an age segment of borrowers up to 25 years. This task is also solved by psychoscoring implementation. Respectively, involvement in credit process of these citizens is a reserve for growth of retail lending in the country", - the CEO of NBKI Alexander Vikulin concludes.
