Andromeda-D - a mobile system of communication and management.
Andromeda-D — the automated system intended for formation of communication channels, steady information networks at the operational and tactical levels.
On September 22, 2015 mass media reported about equipment of a mobile system of communication and management for paratroopers Andromeda-D of the program for carrying out video conferences for closed channels. Transmission rate of commands[1] is increased[1].
As a part of the upgraded Andromeda-D automated control system:
- hardware communications,
- command and control vehicles,
- mobile command posts
- other equipment.
Means of basing Andromeda-D (2014)
In dependence of the tasks which are carried out by divisions it can be mounted on the chassis of the landed cars, the BTR-D landing armored personnel carriers and BMD-2, BMD-4 airborne fighting vehicles[2].
A system provides management of parts and divisions of airborne forces, interaction with other army formations in combat conditions.
Field mobile points of a system can be used in different control links, including:
- at the level of operational command,
- at the level of consolidation, management of Special Operations Forces.
Points are created on the basis of the standard automated module from two sections and more than ten jobs operating both jointly, and separately, providing information exchange about the current operational and tactical situation among themselves, command and control vehicles, other operations control rooms of airborne troops online.
The automated control system is capable to transfer data and commands in field conditions by the maximum number of methods, including satellite communication, multimedia services telephone and picture telephony, there is a possibility of video conferencing through closed channels and works on the Ethernet networks. Components of a system are capable to transmit information, as on traditional VHFs - and QUARTER radio channels, and through the latest high-speed means of communication.
A system works in stationary conditions, in the movement, including in the conditions of fighting. Andromeda-D is adapted for loading, flight and landing, use in the conditions of modern fight. With its use the speed of delivery of operational orders, commands, decision makings increases, information superiority is implemented, providing tactical advantages.
Andromeda-D has modern navigation duplicate system of positioning.
Serial deliveries of the upgraded generation of this system to airborne forces of the Russian Federation began in 2015
