2023: Development and start of application of universal surgical table
A universal operating table has been developed in Novosibirsk, which has successfully passed preclinical tests on real patients. This table can adapt to different types of operations, making it a unique and useful tool in medicine.
The project is being implemented by engineers from Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) and Novosibirsk Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics. The developers emphasize that such a universal operating table is a difficult engineering task. It is equipped with modern nodes, including electromechanical control, and can be adapted for different types of operations, including gynecology and urology.
This table promises to be a more affordable option for medical institutions compared to foreign counterparts, which can lead to an improvement in the quality of medical care.
By the end of August 2023, work is underway to commercialize the project. The goal is to find partners to start mass production of this innovative table, since to obtain official permission to use it, it is necessary to certify both the table itself and its production.
The surgical table is a fairly serious engineering development. There are needs for it in all areas of medicine... We tried to develop a table that uses all modern components - electromechanical control and so on. This table should adapt to various operations, - said the table developer Yevgeny Bayanov (quoted by TASS). |
He added that the universal surgical table will allow operations on several profiles, including gynecology and urology, and will be significantly cheaper than foreign counterparts. In addition, the engineers of the Novosibirsk university plan to modify the operating table for the needs of the army.[1]
