Netris hybrid IPTV/OTT/DVB

The purpose of the hybrid IPTV/OTT Netris project hybrid IPTV/OTT/DVB implemented by Netris company in:

providing service to the users interested in high quality of video service (QoS); the offer of channels and other content in a HD format; availability of local content from every spot on the globe; providing service on different subscriber devices; use of any sources of content for creation of a big videoshop; availability of remote users - where there is only a connection to the Internet; ensuring convenient use of service irrespective of a source and type of the user device.

The first two tasks, at the same time, are within functionality of IPTV, and the others - OTT and hybrid television.

One of the most important factors promoting connection of technologies is support of a mnogoekrannost (Multiscreen). It is one of main advantages of OTT allowing to get access to content from any device connected to broadband access.

When using DVB for broadcasting of channels and IP for providing interactive services and premium content the operator:

• Considerably saves bandwidth, releasing it for the interactive services bringing an additional income. Allows to increase ARPU;
• Reduces costs due to purchase of cheaper network equipment which is not supporting multicast;
• Allows to differentiate the offer for subscribers, having covered all social groups. It will be possible to choose the most suitable set of services satisfying his requirements for each subscriber.

Components

Basic components of the solution: a management system for Netris iVision Middleware services, the multifunction platform for Internet broadcasting of Netris iStream Video Server, the system of transcoding of RGB, the Dune HD and Amino prefix.
