In early October 2025, the announcement of the Russian software and hardware complex for early diagnosis of skin cancer took place. A plant called Nevuskan is said to be capable of detecting melanoma with an accuracy of over 90%.

The Nevuskan apparatus was developed Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Dermatovenerology and Cosmetology of the Department health care in the cities (Moscow GBUZ MNPCDK DZM). The device is a multifunctional photovideodermatoscopic system based on artificial intelligence.

Russian PAC presented for early diagnosis of melanoma with 92% accuracy

Melanoma is a malignant skin formation formed from pigment cells - melanocytes located in the epidermis. The cause of the disease is abnormal degeneration and active division of melanocytes. It is one of the most dangerous malignancies, often recurrent and metastasizing by lymphogenic and hematogenic route to almost all organs.

The Nevuskan system evaluates the patient's skin by analyzing nevi (moles) for the risk of developing an oncological process. In this case, a map of the location of pigment formations is formed. When rescanning, AI algorithms match old and new data, revealing changes. This technique provides up to 92% accuracy in stage I-II melanoma. The system also makes it possible to form a dermatoscopic image data bank. This helps doctors conduct dynamic follow-up of at-risk patients.

As noted, as TASS Moscow of the beginning of October 2025, the four first Nevuskan devices were installed in the clinics. There is a demand for the device throughout, in Russia connection with which the development is planned to be launched into mass production. The domestic system in terms of opportunities is not inferior to foreign ones, but costs significantly less. So, the price of the American device is about 28 million, rubles Russian - about 8 million rubles.[1]
