Nio ET9 (electric car)

2024: Product Announcement

In mid-February 2024, the Chinese company Nio introduced a premium ET9 electric car, which will compete with the Porsche and Mercedes-Maybach models. A feature of the novelty is the mode that allows the car to independently shake off the snow from the body.

The flagship executive sedan is ET9 equipped with an onboard electric system with a voltage of 900 V. It is claimed that using fast charging in five minutes, such an amount of energy can be accumulated, which is enough to overcome about 255 km of the path. The power plant includes two electric motors, and the total power reaches 697 horsepower. A fully controlled chassis is used, which improves maneuverability.

The snow removal function works thanks to electronically controlled shock absorbers. When this mode is activated, the machine begins to swing intensively from side to side, as a result of which the snow rolls off the surface of the body. The process is reminiscent of how dogs and other animals are dusted off water.

The electric car received a luxurious four-seater Executive Bridge salon. Comfortable seats with a large set of adjustments are installed, each of the two passengers in the back row has its own 14.6-inch touchscreen display. The center console houses a 15.6-inch SkyOS infotainment screen. The equipment includes lidars, all-round cameras, as well as various intelligent driver assistance systems. A panoramic roof with two independently controlled sunshades, according to Nio, brings the interior to life. The wheelbase is 3250 mm. The flagship electric car ET9 will go on sale in 2025 at an estimated price of $112 thousand.^[1]
