Nipper Studio uses a method of passive scanning – check of configuration files of network devices and means of protecting. Configuration files of devices are loaded into such scanner, and the software package checks compliance of their settings to the security policy accepted at the enterprise. In comparison with the active Nipper Studio scanners does not make a heavy load on network – for its work rather regularly to receive configuration files of devices. Loading at the same time is minimum therefore it is possible to carry out such inspections much more often, for example, time per hour. As a result the analysis of configurations works more quickly, than the traditional active scanner which at best it is possible to start once a day at night when load of network is minimum. Besides, active scanners cannot correct the found error, but only issue recommendations about correction.

• Support of additional network devices. In addition to support of huge number of devices now Nipper Studio contains more than 100 plug-ins. Support of Cisco Nexus and Juniper SSL devices, the Dell PowerConnect and Netgear ProSafe switches is added.
• Comparisons of changes of security audit. Now it is possible to include comparison of changes in security audit that will allow to see quickly improvement of a security system since the previous audit.
• Profiles of settings (Settings Profiles). Though Nipper Studio does not require any special knowledge of security and is simple in use, the product includes a large number of configuration settings. Control of these settings for different audits is exercised even more simply now with introduction of profiles of settings which allow to recustomize quickly Nipper Studio for other checks.
• Configuration change comparisons. Reports of Nipper Studio can include initial data of a configuration of your network device. In the new version of Nipper Studio 2.1 it is possible to select different options now in your configuration which were changed from the moment of the previous audit.
• It is made a number of improvements according to proposals of users which is the key driving force of development of Nipper Studio. The feature for adding of parameters of the device in contents of the report is added, and it became simpler to configure fonts and colors in the report. In addition to many other updates a help system is improved – labels for often used functions are added.
