Nokia Sleep

2018: Announcement

On January 10, 2018 it became known that within the CES 2018 exhibition the Nokia company provided a product under the name Sleep Nokia. As it appears from the description, it is a "smart" rug with the "improved" sensor which monitors dream cycles and also controls lighting and regulates temperature condition indoors.

The rug is equipped with the module Wi-fi, interacts with the Health Mate Nokia application and works together with the service integrating different network applications, IFTTT. According to the Gadgets portal, the product will go on sale in the first half of 2018 and will cost $100.

The "smart" rug analyzes dream cycles in different phases, then transfers results directly to the Health Mate application which gives to users advice on improvement of sleep quality. Collected data are automatically synchronized with the Health Mate Nokia application that all data on your health and a dream were in one device.

The Verge reports that Sleep Nokia is located sideways beds at the level of a breast. The device monitors duration of your dream and its violations. In the solution it is used the algorithms allowing to compare data retrieveds to clinical trials in the field of a polisomnografiya.

In addition to monitoring of a dream, Sleep Nokia also has the IFTTT functions allowing to manage the smart devices located in the bedroom. For example, when you go to bed, lighting will be turned off automatically and vice versa.

The Health Mate application of Nokia company is its joint development with Amazon which provided the voice assistant to Alexa. Thus, the set of solutions allows to monitor a status health using own voice.

In 2016 Nokia purchased the producer of gadgets for fitness of Withings, but Sleep Nokia is the first independent development of the Finnish company in this sphere.^[1]
