2020: Completion of tests in the North Sea

In the middle of December, 2020 it became known that the 142-meter Nord superyacht constructed for the Russian billionaire Alexey Mordashov successfully completed tests in the North Sea. Nord is estimated at not less than $300 million.

The luxury Nord superyacht was constructed by the German company Lurssen. For the first time it was floated in 2019, the vessel is intended for acceptance of 36 guests in 20 cabins with bathrooms, including the owner's cabin.

The Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard mentioned by awards was engaged in a design of an interior and an exterior of Nord. The six-deck vessel is equipped with two helipads, one of which can be transformed to covered for the helicopter, the pool, day spa and the diving center. Also passengers will be able to use a jacuzzi, a zone for a barbecue and the beach area. For the owner of the yacht the personal account is provided, there are a conditioner and Wi-Fi. The water-displacing body of the yacht is made of steel, and a superstructure - of aluminum. The hybrid engine of the yacht allows to gather the maximum speed of 20 nodes, and cruiser-15 nodes.

Representatives of design studio Nuvolari Lenard noted that the yacht has "a mass of resources for distant travel" to provide a possibility of global researches.

According to Moran Yacht & Ship broker company which was engaged in control of process of construction of the yacht, the date of delivery of Nord had to be postponed. The yacht was supposed to be given to the customer in 2019. Changes underwent as well the name of the yacht, at first it was called Redwood, during descent to water in July, 2020 - OPUS and only in November it was renamed into Nord.

Alexey Mordashov has one more yacht - 63-meter Lady M, it was constructed in 2013. According to sources which are familiar with Mordashov, the billionaire on is going to sell Lady M.^[1]
