Novell prepares (data of April, 2013) for Flir release, the local system of file sharing for the organizations. According to in Novell, it is as convenient as Dropbox, but at the same time allows to manage the stored data "on the terms of the organization user". The main feature of Flir — a system works over already available file storages which are controlled with the help the politician of the Active Directory. Thanks to it employees can get access to Flir from any device — service is displayed in the form of the normal file directory.
Flir is delivered in the form of an image of the virtual machine of VMware (options for other hypervisors can appear further). The Windows Server and Novell Open Enterprise servers and access from client devices on Windows platforms of XP/7/8, Mac OS X, Android, iOS and BlackBerry 10 are supported.
There is a function of full-text search according to files and a possibility of their transfer out of limits of corporate network. Novell offers Flir to the enterprises to which local storage of files is more preferable cloud according to requirements of regulations.
