On December 7, 2020 the Nutanix company announced a possibility of application of the solution for storage of unstructured data of Objects and Files in a hybrid cloud environment. Users of Nutanix can unroll simple in use, horizontally scalable storage system in different cloud environments. Simpler data management and costs for their storage brings closer IT commands to an operational model of a hybrid cloud.

The updated functionality includes:

• Cloud multilevel storage of objects. Nutanix Objects supports multilevel storage in S3 - compatible object storages, including the cloud storage of AWS S3. It helps to reduce the cost of storage and archiving due to use of resources of a public cloud. Besides, intellectual multilevel storage allows to manage lifecycle of data in different clouds, retaining at the same time transparency and control of data as metadata are stored locally for simplification of search and use. Clients can use any S3 - compatible storage as storage level for Nutanix Objects.
• Hybrid cloud storage of files. Nutanix Files is available in public clouds through Nutanix Clusters. Created initially for storage in hybrid environments, Nutanix Files provides uniform experience of use and management from one panel for different scenarios, whether it be peripheral calculations, remote offices, local DPCs or public clouds. It provides flexibility in the choice of the location, light scalability and control over storage of files in hybrid environments.
• Simpler disaster recovery. Nutanix Objects and Files has an indicator of RPO (target recovery point) thanks to what data will be available in DPC or a cloud in case of accident. Stream replication with an indicator of RPO in several seconds is provided that it is especially important for containers of applications which can use S3 devices as the main storage. It will allow to use in containers crucial applications with preserving of a status and will provide business continuity even in the most difficult circumstances. Besides, Nutanix Files supports the indicator of RPO reduced up to one minute (in comparison with one hour before) for the corporate applications using the NFS or SMB protocols.

On September 9, 2020 the Nutanix company announced partnership with Microsoft which will allow the companies to offer hybrid infrastructure with uniform management and a possibility of seamless transfer of applications, data and licenses between a private cloud and a cloud of Azure, using the solution Nutanix Clusters on Azure.

According to the company, as a result of partnership of Nutanix and Microsoft will propose the following solutions and services:

• Nutanix Clusters on Azure. Both companies will focus on expansion of infrastructure of a hybrid cloud Nutanix in Azure. Cooperation means creation in Azure of the computing nodes prepared for deployment of clusters and services Nutanix. Users will be able to unroll and manage copies of virtual machines in Azure from Nutanix control interface. It will provide uniform approaches, tools and also the approved experience. What is the most important, it will allow to start freely workloads in a private and public cloud without change of architecture of applications. The solution is designed to provide flexibility when choosing a suitable cloud for each workload and to eliminate operational and technical problems, connected with management of several environments that will lead to significant savings of means.
• The approved deliveries of services and support. Microsoft and Nutanix will cooperate to offer clients the approved sales and support. So, clients of Microsoft will be able to utilize the existing Azure credits according to Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) for purchase of software of Nutanix. In turn, users of Nutanix will be able to transfer current licenses for use of Nutanix Clusters on Azure and also will get access to software on model "on demand" through Azure Marketplace. To provide really complex offer, Nutanix and Microsoft Azure will cooperate for a joint customer support.
• Integration with Azure Arc: Nutanix and Microsoft will provide control of servers, containers and services of data on the Nutanix HCI platform - locally or in Azure - through Azure Arc management console. This integration will provide broader services of Azure in the environment of Nutanix, including start of servers, containers and services of data Azure Arc, adaptation cloud the practician and expansion of security Azur for local use.

Availability of the solution Nutanix Clusters in Amazon Web Services

On August 11, 2020 the Nutanix company announced availability of the solution Nutanix Clusters on AWS. It gives the chance to set and use all products and Nutanix services on "net servers" of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) of the AWS Amazon platform. Nutanix presents the complete solution integrating computing resources and the data warehouse, integrated about AWS network and also providing the unified transactions and portability of licenses between private and public clouds, thereby fixing key technical and operational issues of a hybrid cloud. Thus Nutanix creates the hybrid cloud infrastructure allowing to accelerate digitalization and to optimize expenses as these tasks became even more important for the organizations during a pandemic of COVID.
