2021: Announcement of automatic parking system with voice control
In November 2021, Nvidia announced the launch of the Nvidia Drive Concierge and Drive Chauffeur AI platforms, which, according to the company, it developed on the basis of advanced technologies in order to reduce discomfort and stress from ordinary driving.
On each platform there is an electronic assistant controlled by artificial intelligence, the list of capabilities of which includes driver control, responses to voice requests, monitoring the situation while driving and parking. Drivers and passengers will be able to connect to providers who can use Nvidia Drive IX and Nvidia Omniverse Avatar technologies for real-time AI voice control.
Avatar Omniverse turns the function Drive Concierge into a digital assistant that can give advice, make calls from a mobile phone, book e-books, has features to alert you about emergency situations on the road and car park.
The platform will perform data processing both in the city and coordinate the actions of drivers on highways.
This platform will use the Drive Hyperion 8 touch box, which will be installed in cars from 2024. It is based on two Orin SoC, as well as 12 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 9 radars and one lidar sensor on the front panel.
Nvidia already has a complete set of automotive technologies aimed at ensuring autonomous driving. Central to all this is Drive AGX Orin, a self-controlled chip capable of performing 200 trillion operations per second, which was announced in 2019.
Volvo and Mercedes have already entered into partnership agreements on the use of Nvidia Drive technology in their future cars.[1]
