2014: Alt Linux SPT 6.0
Alt Linux, together with Free Programs and Technologies, announced in April 2011 the successful completion of certification of Alt Linux SPT 6.0. FSTEC Certificate No. 2317, which is valid until April 18, 2014, allows you to use the Alt Linux product to work with personal data of any type, with official and confidential information, as well as state secrets.
In particular, a distribution kit certified according to the fourth class of protection of computer equipment from unauthorized access and the third level of control over the absence of undeclared capabilities can be used to develop automated systems with a 1V security class inclusive and personal data protection systems K1 inclusive, Alt Linux said in a statement.
Alt Linux SPT 6.0 is a unified distribution for servers and workstations with built-in software information protection tools. The use of built-in certified information protection tools with discretionary and mandatory access control allows: to simultaneously store and process public, service, personal and other confidential data of different categories on one personal computer or server; provide multi-user work with delimitation of access to information; connect various devices for scanning and printing documents, including with stamps and stamps of limited use; install and use anti-virus and cryptographic tools compatible with the operating system and built-in information protection tools, as well as electronic digital signature and firewall tools; monitor the integrity of information protection tools, software environment and data archives with built-in tools; install additional software, if it does not violate the functioning of the OS and information protection tools.
According to the developers, the system can be used as a workstation and as a server. The certified kit includes versions for two architectures (32-bit and 64-bit) and a coupon for technical support for 1 computer, which entitles you to receive free regular certified updates.
The main changes in the new distribution are as follows:
- Updated the batch base to modern versions
- new mechanisms for centralized authorization using LDAP and LDAP + Kerberos protocols are included in the information protection system (IPS);
- new means are included in the certification object and technical specifications:
- Web server Apache2;
- means of building e-mail exchange systems Postfix, Dovecot;
- KVM virtual machine creation and management tool;
- Firefox browser and Thunderbird email client have become certified.
The certified distribution kit "Alt Linux SPT 6.0" is intended for servers and workstations with built-in software information protection tools (FSTEC certificate No. 2317 from 18.04.2011). According to the developers, it meets the requirements of the following guidelines:
'Means of computing. Protection against unauthorized access to information. Indicators of protection against unauthorized access to information '- according to the 4th security class; 'Protection against unauthorized access to information. Part 1. Information security software. Classification by the level of absence of undeclared capabilities' - by the 3rd level of control.
The distribution can be used to build automated systems according to the 1V class inclusive and to create personal data information systems (ISDS) according to the K1 class inclusive.
