In Russia, a polygraph was created that reads the movement of the eyes. This was announced in October 2021 by the head of the Research Institute of Forensic Science of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexei Bessonov. According to him, it is impossible to deceive the device. The device is called "Itracker" or "Oculograph," it has already begun to be used in pilot mode.

Bessonov explained that if a person did not commit a crime, then the issues related to him will not cause a certain reaction. And if a person has knowledge of a crime, then he will have an appropriate reaction. Similarly, he added, it is possible to analyze speech, movements of a person's face and body.

And if all these methods are collected in a single device, I think that it is unlikely that anyone will be able to compete with him in terms of concealing and distorting information of interest to the investigation, "Bessonov emphasized.

The head of the Research Institute of Forensic Science of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted that the institute has long been interested in research related to human oculomotor reactions. It is believed that the eyes are an open part of the brain, and he cannot control the movement of the eyes, the diameter of the pupils when he presents information significant to humans. Therefore, it is already very difficult for a person to hide something, he added.

Psychologists have long known that the eyes are a mirror of the soul. A person cannot control the enlargement and narrowing of the pupil, which responds to emotionally significant information. Yes, you can quieten your will and control your heartbeat, but you can't influence your pupil. Thus, oculomotor reaction equipment can reveal whether this incentive is significant for a person or not, "Bessonov concluded.[1]
